It’s the little things that matter . . . A cherished recipe passed on from your grandmother, watching your child experiment with finger paint for the first time, a special dessert your family begs you to make over and over, or making time to squish play dough with your toddler.

Playdough Creations

Add different sizes of googly eyes, buttons, straws, pipe cleaners and other household items to your playdough. Watch your child create different animals, people and other silly creatures.

Playdough Gadgets

Use cookie cutters, potato masher, comb, rolling pin, stamps, plastic scissors, plastic forks and spoons, wooden mallet, any unique kitchen gadget, lids, milk caps, and small plastic bowls (like an applesauce cup) for playdough fun.

Make Your Own:

1. Rubbery Playdough
Mix: 2 cups baking soda, 1 1/2 cups water, and 1 cup cornstarch.

Mix with a fork until smooth.  Boil over med. heat until thick.   Spoon onto plate or wax paper and play!

2. Traditional Playdough
Ingredients: 1 cup flour, 1 cup water, 1 tablespoon vegetable oil, 2 teaspoons cream of tartar, 1/2 cup salt, food coloring.

Mix all dry ingredients. Add oil, food coloring and water. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until reaching the consistency of mashed potatoes and the dough pulls away from the sides of the pan. Remove from heat.

3. Craft Clay
Ingredients: 1 cup cornstarch, 2 cups baking soda (a one pound box), 1 1/4 cups water.

Combine cornstarch and baking soda in pan. Add water gradually, stirring until smooth. Place mix over medium heat and cook until thick and dough like in consistency, stirring constantly. Turn mix out on a pastry board and knead well. Cover with damp cloth or keep in plastic bag. This is good for plaques and other models that will be painted when dry.
