It’s the little things that matter . . . A cherished recipe passed on from your grandmother, watching your child experiment with finger paint for the first time, a special dessert your family begs you to make over and over, or making time to squish play dough with your toddler.

Valentine's Day Fun
5 Sweet Activities for Your Love Bug

1. Sweet Candy Frames: Purchase small boxes of conversation hearts and remove all the candies. Glue a picture of your child inside the heart plastic window and then attach a magnet to the back of the box. Decorate by gluing the candy hearts around the front of the box.

2. Valentine Marble Painting:  Use a heart candy box bottom. Cut white paper to fit inside the box. Dip marbles into pink and red paint. Drop the marbles into the box and let your child twist and turn the box. Add snowflake glitter to complete the valentine.

3. Puffy Hearts: Mix together Elmer's glue, shaving cream and red tempera paint. Your child can finger paint on heart shaped paper.

4. Valentine Necklaces: Use candy kisses, clear cling wrap and red, white or pink curly ribbon. Cut the cling wrap into a rectangle piece. Have your child place the candy kisses along the bottom leaving a small space in between. Then roll the wrap tighty around, starting at the bottom and working towards the top. When you are finished the kisses should be in the wrap all rolled, like a snake. Help tie the curly ribbon between each piece of candy. Encourage the use of patterns with the ribbon.

5. Valentine Cookie Graham: You need a graham cracker, pink frosting (put red food coloring into white frosting), Alpha Bits cereal, and small candy hearts. Directions: 1. Frost Graham cracker with pink frosting. 2. "Write" your message (I Love You, your name, Be Mine, etc.) on the frosted cracker using the Alpha Bits. 3. Decorate the boarder with candy hearts.
