Lolita Carrico, founder of Modern Mom LLC, believes that balance is the key to having it all and she wants to spread the word! Her flagship effort is ModernMom.com, a leading online publication and destination site for busy women. With practical advice, time-saving tips and mom must-haves Lolita teaches women how to have it all – without losing it all.
Prior to launching Modern Mom, Lolita worked as a marketing and public relations professional specializing in Internet based companies. After her first son Jaden was born, she realized that she could not work 80 hours a week and be the kind of mom she wanted to be. Looking for advice and resources, Lolita noticed that everything was from the perspective of parenting and the baby. “Nothing spoke to me as a working woman transitioning to motherhood,” she notes. But, instead of trading her career for her family, Lolita defined herself as a “modern mom” and found ways to maintain her business, raise her family and nurture herself. ModernMom.com was created for women just like Lolita who want an outlet that addresses their needs as moms, women, friends and career professionals.
An expert on just about any issue faced by a modern mom, Lolita has been featured on hundreds of television and radio programs and in a variety of newspapers and magazines discussing topics such as parenting, relationships, career and balance. Since becoming a mother, Lolita has gained inspiration not only from kids, but from an incredible network of women she has met who have found clever yet simple solutions for balancing the many facets of their lives with great success. A single mom, Lolita lives in Los Angeles and enjoys spending time with her two young sons – Jaden, 5 and Jack, 2, playing tennis and going to the spa with friends.
