About Mary Michele Little

Mary Michele Little has had a passion for clothing and style since she was five years old. Ever since her mother taught her how to sew Michele has been designing clothing, whether it was made for her Barbies or herself.

After graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Apparel Arts from UNC-G, she went on to become a fashion designer, opening her own boutique in Raleigh in 1997. Michele designed custom apparel and an upscale line of women's ready-to-wear for more than ten years. She has as many years in retail management to balance that out. In short, she has almost 20 years of experience helping women look their best!

Always fascinated by fashion and style, Michele found herself feeling out of touch with her own style shortly after the birth of her daughter. She was feeling frumpy in a way she had not experienced before, and out of touch with current styles. Michele realized that that other moms might be feeling the same way after having a baby, so she sought to create a resource that would help inspire moms to look and feel their best and stay in touch with current fashion and make-up trends.

In 2006, Michele made her beauty and style expertise easily accessible to all moms through her blog, One Chic Mama. One Chic Mama aims to help moms bring out the 'chic mama' inside themselves. Michele is proud to now offer her image consulting services to women (not just moms!) in the Triangle area. She is passionate about helping women look and feel their best. Because inside every woman, there really is One Chic Mama!

Michele writes a monthly column that appears in Carolina Parent, Charlotte Parent, Indy's Child and Cincinnati Parent. She is also a freelance writer and a regular contributor to the website, PoshMama.com. Michele lives in Raleigh with her husband, David Iversen, and their children, Ivy and Dylan.

Get the Girls Where They Belong
Vicky and Jen ask their fashion friends for tips on finding a bra that properly fits.

“I resolve to teach women to wear color with confidence.  Black has a tendency to wash people out if their coloring isn't dark enough, but wearing the right colors can take years off a woman's age.  Who doesn’t want that?”
