About Chanie Kirschner

Chanie Kirschner has spent most of her journalism career writing advice columns -- to the lovelorn, to aspiring fashionistas, to pregnant soon-to-be mommas. And now she's giving advice to you, the environmentally-conscious but curious. So send her your quandaries -- she's sure to give you exactly what you're looking for … or at least something close to what you're looking for … or at least something.

Chanie -- who loves Reeses' peanut butter cups, a good chick flick, country music, and of course, giving advice -- lives in New Jersey with her husband Michael, and their baby Jakie. Chanie is part of MNN's advice team.

The mission of MOTHER NATURE NETWORK is "Improve Your World." But while many sites limit "your world" to only "your planet," MNN defines it in much broader terms. Just as your world encompasses many different aspects—your family, your health, your lifestyle, your business, your communit AND your planet—so too does MNN.

As Discussed on Show

Keys for Kindness
Keys for Kindness is an idea that began long ago when a family member was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Kathy wanted to find a way to help raise money for the M.S. society. Recycling has been a family way of life for many years. She realized that combining the two and finding a unique way to help out Kathy and her family would be great . A drawer full of metal keys sparked an idea. Why not ask others to clean out their drawers of old keys and send them to us. We then recycle them, which in turn allows us to donate more to the M.S. Society, while also helping the Go Green effort.
