Cream of Broccoli Soup

Why I Like It:
This easy soup will make you feel warm and fuzzy inside.

Ingredients:

6 cups of chicken stock
1 (10 ounce) bag of frozen broccoli
3/4 cup finely chopped onion
2 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
2 cups shredded American or Cheddar cheese
2 cups whipping cream
1/4 cup butter
1/3 cup all-purpose flour plus 1/2 cup cold water

Directions:
In a 3 quart pan, bring stock to a boil. Add onion and broccoli. Boil for 10-12 minutes. Add seasonings and shredded cheese. Stir until melted. Add cream and butter. Heat until warm. Slowly add water to flour and mix until smooth. Gradually add to the soup, stirring rapidly. Heat until thick.
